ECS-SRA day 2017

ARTEMIS-IA presented the ARTEMIS SRA 2016, its latest update of the ARTEMIS Strategic Research Agenda (SRA), in the spring of 2016 during the ARTEMIS Spring Event in Vienna. As all previous ARTEMIS SRAs, this edition is also meant to be a pan-European document about the proposed strategy for embedded intelligence and serves as input for the ECSEL MASRIAs, and to inspire the Horizon 2020 programme and the Eureka programmes.

Today we are preparing for FP9, and at this moment in time we want to consolidate our chances to have a follow-up of the ECSEL Joint Undertaking, i.e. an ECSEL2 to continue after the programme of H2020 (the name of FP8) and the current ECSEL stops. The European Commission and Public Authorities indicated that to increase the chance that ECSEL will continue in FP9, they recommend to deal with associations that speak with one voice.

Although the MASRIA is a common document, realised with inputs of the three separate SRAs from AENEAS, ARTEMIS-IA and EPoSS, the Boards of the three association decided that we would make a stronger impression by combining our SRAs into just one: the Strategic Research Agenda on Electronic Components and Systems (ECS-SRA) by the three association.

One common Strategic Research Agenda for AENEAS, ARTEMIS-IA and EPoSS
Currently a core-team and chapters' co-leaders, with experts from the three associations, are working on the draft ECS-SRA that would be directly usable as ECSEL MASRIA. By beginning of October 2017 a pre-final draft of the ECS-SRA will be available. To give our members the opportunity to give feedback on the pre-final ECS-SRA, ARTEMIS-IA organises an ECS-SRA feedback day in Brussels on 4 October 2017.

The members of ARTEMIS-IA are strongly invited to get involved and actively participate and contribute to the elaboration of this SRA, so it reflects the research priorities and areas of interest of our community. To that purpose, the list of the WG members and Chapters co-leaders is made available, so you can contact according to your area(s) of interest to join their expert team(s) personally. You may also send representative(s) from your organisation.
