Best wishes and ARTEMIS-IA news

Dear ARTEMIS-IA members,

ARTEMIS-IA whishes you all the best for the New Year.

Welcome to this first ARTEMIS-IA newsletter of 2016. We also want to encourage you to spread your company, research and/or project news via our ARTEMIS-IA tools as well! We would like to receive all your Embedded Intelligent Systems related news, including ARTEMIS-JU and ECSEL-JU-project dissemination information! Please make use of the opportunity to spread your news via our channels.

As you know Andreas Wild stopped his activities as Executive Director of the ECSEL JU as he reached his retirement age. The Governing Board has elected Bert de Colvenaer as his successor. Bert started already at Jan. 1st of this year, and a short interview with him is in this newsletter.

The ECSEL JU has endorsed the MASP 2016 that is based on the MASRIA 2016 that was generated by AENEAS, ARTEMIS-IA and EPoSS. The MASRIA 2016 is now downloadable from the websites of three associations; the MASP 2016 will be published by the ECSEL JU together with the information of the calls 2016.

New in the calls 2016 will be the notion of Lighthouse projects that has been developed over the past 6 month within ECSEL-JU; details are still to be developed.

Also this year we will organize the yearly ARTEMIS-IA brokerage event that will make links with the ECSEL-JU programme, and EC H2020 programmes including those that have earmarked funding like for instance the IoT programme. The ARTEMIS-IA Brokerage Event 2016 will take place in Strassbourg from January 26 to January 27 and we hope that we can welcome all of you at this event.

After we agreed on the location in Strassbourg, the ECSEL JU decided for a similar event back to back to our event. After the two events we will evaluate whether we still need our own brokerage event in 2017; our drive is to maximize the opportunities for our members, even if there would be some overlap with other events.

As you might already know there will be no Co-Summit event with ITEA in 2016 due to logistical reasons. We are discussing with ITEA an event co-organized by both of us in the spring of 2017. As soon as the plans are firm we will inform you.

In the spring of this year we will organize our ARTEMIS Spring Event, back to back to the CPS week in Vienna from April 13 to April 14. At that moment we expect to issue our next version of the ARTEMIS Strategic Research Agenda (ARTEMIS-SRA). The invitation for the Spring Event is planned to be send in the last week of February.
