European Forum for Electronic Components and Systems
The European Forum for Electronic Components and Systems (EFECS) is an international forum with a focus on ‘Our Digital Future’ along the Electronic Components and Systems value chain in Europe. During the event, strategic theme sessions will be organised, keynote speakers will share their expertise and vision and R&I results will be shown in a project exhibition.

History
In the last 30+ years the European funding landscape has gradually developed and now consists of a complex series of national, trans-national and strategic European initiatives. Today, it is being recognised that Digital innovation is beginning to coalesce around a set of strategic themes, that structure collaborative activity along the Electronics Components & Systems (ECS) value chain. These themes, which are increasingly being shared by the various participants in the European value chain ecosystem, address both key application areas for Europe as well as essential cross cutting technology capabilities that enable applications to innovate in a context of Digital transformation.
For that reason the organisers of this event, AENEAS, ARTEMIS-IA, EPoSS, ECSEL Joint Undertaking and the European Commission joined forces to bring all stakeholders together and focus on this years’ theme: ‘Our Digital Future’.

The event is divided in three overall themes:
Strategy

Part 1 of EFECS has a focus on the strategy development and implementation in the near future. We will set the direction and discuss the implementation via pre-brokerage activities and project proposal pitches. |

Future Collaboration
|
Part2 of the event will focus on future collaborative landscape in Europe. In several theme sessions projects from different funding schemes get the opportunity to present their work and vision for the future. Furthermore, we highlight why collaboration is important and how innovation can grow when delineations between technologies are gone. |

Vision
|
In the last part of the event, we will look ahead. EFECS will give visionaries the room to showcase trends and inspire us on what ‘our digital Future’ would look like. Furthermore we give the European Commission the room to present the Future of Digitisation of Europe and the progress on implementing this. |
