ARTEMIS Strategic Research Agenda

The ARTEMIS European Technology Platform (ETP) issued its first Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) in 2006 to set the scene on R&I on Embedded Intelligent Systems in Europe. The ARTEMIS Industry Association Working Group SRA presented an updated SRA in 2011, because of all new technical options and challenges. By that time it had become clear that Embedded Intelligent Systems increasingly formed a neural system of society and were therefore an essential part of the solution to our major societal challenges.

In 2013, during the preparations for ECSEL Joint Undertaking, it became clear that the SRA 2011 needed a minor update. Therefore an SRA addendum was written, in addition to the ARTEMIS SRA 2011.

In 2016, a new edition of the ARTEMIS SRA was published (ARTEMIS SRA 2016), creating a pathway to digital transformation: an opportunity for Europe. This edition focuses on providing strong technological capability over the whole value chain.

Electronic Components and Systems Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda

The first ever joint Electronic Components & Systems (ECS) Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) was published in January 2018. The three European industry associations ARTEMIS-IA, AENEAS and EPoSS, spanning the entire value chain, set out their vision for digital Europe, the key application areas, the R&D&I challenges and solutions. The ECS-SRA is a funding agnostic document by AENEAS, ARTEMIS-IA and EPoSS and used as input for the MASP of the ECSEL Joint undertaking.

High-Level Vision 2030

ARTEMIS Industry Association, together with ITEA, conducted a thorough study on the economic dimensions of Digital Technology and the impact of software innovation on revenue and jobs in Europe. The results of this study are published in the ITEA-ARTEMIS-IA High-Level Vision 2030. In this publication, the need for Research and Innovation in digital technology is clearly motivated in the light of its economic impact and the seven major global challenges which mankind is facing for the year 2030.

SRIA & ECSEL MASRIA

In preparation of the industrial strategy for ECSEL Joint Undertaking, the three associations AENEAS, ARTEMIS Industry Association and EPoSS wrote a combined Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) in 2012.

In 2014, this SRIA was for the first time elaborated into a Multi-Annual Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (MASRIA) for ECSEL Joint Undertaking. In 2015, 2016, and 2017 the ECSEL MASRIA's were written for ECSEL Joint Undertaking by AENEAS, ARTEMIS Industry Association and EPoSS.
