Blog setting the agenda

To make Europe strong, it is important to create an industry driven research and innovation agenda which enable’s industry, research institutes and universities to build a strong strategy for the future. As said in our previous blog; The world is changing rapidly and new digital threats need to be turned in opportunities to create a better and stronger Europe. Working together on a Strategic Research Agenda contributes to tackle challenges and turn them into opportunities. To do so, the three industry association AENEAS, EPoSS and ARTEMIS work together to create the best networking and brainstorm environment for our members.

Our members among which  universities, research institutes and industry, come together at the European Forum for Electronic Components and Systems to set the agenda and have in-depth discussions about the future. EFECS 2019 is the place where industry gathers and to jointly develop the required roadmaps and strategic research & innovation priorities addressing key themes, in the form of the Electronic Components and Systems Strategic Research Agenda (ECS-SRA).

Do you want to join the discussion? Then EFECS 2019 is the place to be! You can join the ECS-SRA Workshops on several themes such as healthcare, energy, digital farming, application trends, technology trends and one session on broadened scope.

Each workshop is led by two workshop leaders, both experts active in writing the ECS-SRA, and consists of three parts:

  1. Introduction of a theme relevant to the ECS-SRA
  2. Interactive workshop for discussion and feedback on the theme
  3. Links to the Project Idea Pitches presented in the morning session

There is one exception to this set up: the broadening scope session.  In this session a critical debate will have the focus on the major SRA up-date in 2021. Therefore, the scope of the ECS-SRA might be adapted/redefined, which is why in this session special attention will be given to a possible/sensible broadening of the ECS SRA

EFECS encourages "cross thematic" interaction to help address innovation along the full electronic components and systems value chain and highlights key developments effecting the ECS Community. We welcome you to join the event and actively contribute to the future strategy of R&D&I in your field of expertise. Hope to meet you in Helsinki!

Registration for the early bird fee will close on October 19. Get your ticket via https://efecs.eu.
